How Zakat works
In Islam, Zakat is a moral responsibility to Muslims who have a Major control over the administrative structure of the Islamic region. Zakat is an instrument of financial management that seeks to alleviate poverty and hardship by putting responsibility towards the recipient(asnaf) on those who are wealthy, which was clearly stated in the Al Quran.
The importance of zakat in the implementation of a country is to ensure justice, social cohesion and bridging the distance between cultures and communities and avoid the incidence of animosity and hate between individuals. Even though the responsibility of zakat is imposed on individuals, but the effect is not only to have the target group of zakat recipients, but also the zakat institutions themselves.
